LIFE IT ACQUIRES PROFESSIONAL SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS LTD TO GROW APPLICATIONS BUSINESS

 

 

Wilmslow-based Life IT, the IBM premier business partner and System i  specialist, has acquired Professional Software Solutions Ltd (PSSL) to expand the range of IBM software solutions it provides to its hardware customer base and expand its applications business.

 

“The acquisition means we will be able to offer everything a customer needs to implement identity technology including bar code scanners, RFID readers, printers, & bar code labels for a wide range of applications such as time and attendance, asset tracking, stock control and compliance,” explains Jill Sherratt, chief executive, Life IT.

 

“The acquisition of PSSL both complements and expands our range of software solutions for the IBM System i server. PSSL has established distribution agreements as well as a list of very high profile customers; Citibank, Royal Doulton, Russell & Bromley and BOC to name a few.

 

“The company has the European distribution rights for Mark Magic barcode label software which it sells to an account base across Finland, Sweden, Holland and Germany - this part of the business will extend our application integration and mobile capabilities. It also has distribution rights to MMS – a media management software – opening up new markets to Life IT’s existing business.

 

“It's an exciting time for Life IT, we are an experienced IBM hardware partner, and the PSSL distribution agreements allow us to expand our business not only in the UK, but potentially in Europe too.”

 

PSSL was founded by John Ross in 1987 to distribute software for IBM Mid-Range systems. Since then it has established distribution agreements with eight software developers and now some fifteen software systems for IBM System i, iSeries and AS/400 platforms. PSSL is an advanced IBM Business Partner.
