Maintain an identical replica of your live database on another iSeries.

If your primary machine fails and data is lost, everything is still intact on the second machine.

This solution only replicates the data. However, if you can manually-maintain, regularly refresh or restore-on-demand, a copy of your other objects (such as programs and user profiles) on the second machine, you have a machine you could switch users to.
